I am so sorry for your loss. May the love of family, friends, and Almighty God bring you comfort and support during your time of grief and afterward. (Ps. 83:18; Isaiah 41:10) Hold on to your memories of Eric and to the Scriptures to bring you peace and to help you to endure your loss until you are reunited. (2 Tim. 3:16, 17; John 5:28, 29)

Rest Eric, until you hear at dawn,
the low, clear reveille of God.

Thank you for your service to this nation.

My deep condolences to the Johnson family:
Although, we have never met I have lost loved ones to the pain of death. And I would like to share what helped me during those most difficult times.
It wasn't just being around family & friends. But the hope & encouragement you get from the gift that the Most High God gave to each & everyone of us, yes that is His written word the Bible (Psalms 83:18 & 2Timothy 3:16). Please, notice how God's precious son Jesus viewed death in such a gentle way. At John 11:11-14 yes he viewed death as one sleeping. And God gives us the assurance that there will be a resurrection of loved ones from the sting of death (John 5:28, 29).
And He even says where they are are & where they will be (Daniel 12:2 & Psalms 37:11). May you look forward to God's promises being fulfilled (Titus 1:2).

I hope these few Scriptures were of some comfort. Please feel free to contact me or visit jw.org for more words of encouragement. Our daughter fell asleep in death and recently my precious husband of 50 years fell asleep in death also. I truly understand.

With deep sympathy,
Sissy

Goodbye Eric. I've always missed our conversations. At your house, on the back of a truck in England, in your armory office at Fort Suse. It seems like you had been struggling and I'm sorry for not reaching out. You were a good person with a pure soul and you will be deeply missed by many. I really hope you are in "Kevin" fishing with your dog. Rest easy brother.

Kelley, I am so sorry for your loss....Eric was such a great guy and friend...During high school he was the guy who got along with everybody and anybody....I'm looking at these pics of him and I can't believe I'm remembering a friend who'm I thought would be the rock star of the class. He was the Kurt Cobain of 2002. May his son always remember him as the rock star of 2002 and the greatest father on this earth. Eric, although we lost touch after high school...I hope you know that you were loved by so many and that you will never be forgotten. R.I.P. Praying for peace for your family and son.

Eric, it's hard to imagine that your time on earth is up. There was so much left for you to do and so much need for a man with your talents and demeanor. You seemed to find the good in every situation and tried to be positive, even with physical pain you were in. Your students have lost a real role model for workmanship and patience. I just hope there is a Subway where you are. Say hello to Joe and Bella. We miss you, already, Eric.
