I am truly sorry for your loss. However, John 5:25 says “the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who have paid attention will live”. Those who have died and are in God’s memory will be resurrected to a restored earth and have a hope of everlasting life. (Psalm 37:11, 29) I hope this brings you peace.

My sincere sympathy goes out to the Elliott family on your precious loss. I understand the pain of losing loved ones to the sting of death. Three years ago our daughter died and April 21, 2017 my beloved husband of 50 years fell asleep in death.

I would like to share what has helped me to cope. It wasn't just the outpouring of love from the many Congregations across the United States but the reality of what was contained in the Scriptures. Reading about how the Most High God's son Jesus viewed death was indeed comforting: Psalms 83:18 & John 11:11-14. Psalms gives the name of the Most High & the book of John gives Jesus view of death yes, as one Sleeping. Not that one is here or there but is sleeping. And the Scriptures even say where: Daniel 12:2 but I look to the future with complete hope of seeing my loved ones again free from sickness, pain & sorrow: Isaiah 33:24, Revelation 21:3,4. The Scriptures even say where they will be resurrected to & how long we will be together: John 5:28, 29 & Psalms 37:11 & Psalms 37:29.

Well, I hope that just these few Scriptures were of some comfort to you as they were to me.
Sent in deep sympathy & love,
Sissy

To the family of Mrs. Mary Esther Elliott.

You do not know me personally but I am a local volunteer in the DC area. I recently read of Mrs. Elliott’s death in the condolence section of Wiseman Mortuary, Inc. My prayers and thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.

While I did not know her personally, I am confident that by all accounts she was an exceptional individual and model example for others. I am sure you were very proud of her and loved her very much.

I know this is a very difficult time for you. But I wanted to share just a brief message with you as a source of comfort. 1 Corinthians 1:3, 4 states, “Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort...who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.” The Bible helps us understand how God and his Son, Jesus feel about death. And as a result, the time will come when he is going to defeat our enemy death and it will be gone forever. John 5, 28 and 29 states that “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Jesus’] voice and come out.”

I know this may be a bit much to absorb right at this moment. However, when you have time, please take a look at this link on the website, jw.org. The link is: https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/bible-teach/hope-resurrection-of-dead-loved-ones/. This chapter gives us hope for our dead loved ones and gives scriptural proof that we will see them again on a Paradise earth.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

In Sympathy,
RLG from Washington, DC

Dear Elliott Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death is a very traumatic experience. When we lose a loved one in death, we may feel there's no hope anymore. But there is an encouraging scripture in the bible at Rev.21:4 that tells us the God will get rid of tears, death, and pain. Continue to rely on God at this trying time and he will give you the needed strength to endure.
