Jessie Lee Smith

Mr. Jesse Lee Smith, age 65 of Fayetteville, NC departed this life on Saturday January 14, 2023.  On Wednesday, June 26, 1957, God blessed a beautiful young lady, Helen Dockery Smith, & her husband, David Levy Smith with a precious gift. That precious gift was a cute, loveable, & special baby boy. With their hearts filled with joy, they named him Jessie Lee Smith.  Jessie, after a complicated birth, would need a special kind of care that his parents were ready to give him. They loved their precious gift. But, as time passed on, his parents were no longer together. However, his sweet & loving mother continued to care for her son. She showered him with love & devotion even as her health changed. As Jessie grew older & stronger he needed more assistance than his mother could give him. Therefore, his residency changed. But the love remained the same.

Jessie was preceded in death by his mother, Helen, father David, & other family members who loved him dearly.

On Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the age of 65, Jessie finished his course of Life here on earth. He is now reunited with his mother & father. He now gets to meet Jesus, the one who has kept him all of his life. He is now in the presence of God-the author & finisher of Life. Jessie is with the Great I Am.

Jessie leaves to cherish his memory on earth his  loving Aunt Gertrude "Gerty" Reese of Guyton, Ga & a host of other relatives & friends. Fond memories of Jessie shall forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 24th at 11:00 AM at South End Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. 

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, January 24th from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
