In Loving Memory of Phyllis Fay Lyons
Phyllis Fay Nathan was born in Seattle, WA on April 23, 1951 to Dennis and Nelvie (Nathan) Dove. She was the middle child with an older and younger brother, Lewis O’Neil and Dennis Nathan Jr. She was raised in a home filled with faith and was a dedicated member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church during her time in Seattle. Phyllis graduated from James A. Garfield High School class of 1969. She went on to work at Weisfield Jeweler in Seattle after graduation.
She married Ret. Army Staff Sargent Archie “Lee” Lyons Jr. on May 28, 1982 in Tacoma, WA. During her time as a military wife, she spent many wonderful years stationed in Germany where she enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. Phyllis and Lee were last stationed at Fort Hood in North Carolina. Phyllis worked at the base commissary before retiring.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 29th at 11:00 AM in Hood Memorial A. M. E. Zion Church. Burial Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
Viewing Thursday, April 29th 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers and husband of 31 years. She leaves to morn her nieces, DaVonna Nathan Johnson and Damita Nathan of Seattle, WA, nephew Dennis Nathan III of Portland, OR and a host of loving cousins and extended family from Texas, Bremerton, WA and Portland, OR and the friends that she met along her journey through life. She will fondly be remembered as the fun auntie that loved life and always wanted to have a good time.
