(Ret.) Sgt. First Class Wardell Hayes son of the late Susie and Frank Hayes, was born on July 10, 1940 in Chicago, IL. He departed this life May 29, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 4th at 11:00 A.M. in Wiseman Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veteran Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday, June 4th from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Wiseman Mortuary.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Elnita of the home; children, Vanita Fleming (Kenneth) of Kernersville, NC; Kenneth Hayes (Hong) of Charlotte, NC, Tiffany Bazel (James) of Clarksburg, MD; grandchildren, Ashton Fleming of Winston-Salem, NC., Hunter Fleming of Kernersville, NC, Maiya Bazel of Frederick, MD and Taylor Bazel of Clarksburg, MD; siblings, Ersa Jackson (Arthur) of Chicago, IL., Deloris Mack (DeLano) of Chicago, IL, Sally Fields, of Chicago, IL, James Hayes (Marva) of Las Vegas, NV., several cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
