I first met Joyce almost 16 years ago. I was just a private first class and I believe at the time she was a sergeant first class. She would always burst into my building with energy and laughter. She treated me well, like a friend and not a young private. Years later we would reunite as civilian coworkers. I loved her fashion sense and enjoyed listening to her stories about Chelsea. She always had lots to talk about and I was happy to lend an ear. I appreciated her personality, this world will be lots less interesting without it.
